honeymoon.
Sorry about the pic quality, the "photog" was a kid. ;-)

Called "The Rarest Year VW Beetle" by some, the 1967 was a ONE YEAR
only model, a standout, and a nice ride. No Bug
before, and none after, had so many "one time only"
single-year features!
In
the early 60's, Hot Rod Magazine, in a piece on early Bugs,
exclaimed:
"0 to 60 in 20 seconds!"
Note:
All pictures shown
on THIS page are of limited resolution to permit FASTER
loading. If you would like to see HIGHLY DETAILED VW Bug photos, so
much so that you can, (almost), read the numbers on the dashboard radio
dial, click on THIS
link. The detailed VW Bug photos on this link page are all about 500 KB
in size; if you have a slow dial-up connection,
they may take a while to download.
Features:
A
Classic Car, a real
California Bug, for the serious collector or vintage enthusiast. This
nicely restored car features a 'pan off' & 'ground up,'
professionally done, restoration to almost 'like
new'
condition. Used as a show car & occasional driver; a real 'eye
popper' right down to the glove box Owner's Manual & specially
added 'period' accents including a vintage AM/FM Sapphire VI radio, and
a rare
Day/Night mirror! Virtually without peer, and what you might see on a
dealer's show room floor. $16,500 invested. CA Lic # WOW 67. This is
one NICE 1967 VW Bug - What more can be said?

The
engine is a standard 1600cc for good reliability, and is highly
detailed,
appearance-wise, right down to the "change oil" sticker on the one year
only dual spout Volkswagen air cleaner, and the valve adjust sticker,
on the
cooling shroud. Also, this restored classic car features a Bosch 70 Amp
alternator for "bright" night lights, a timing degree wheel, plus a
Gene Berg 5 1/2 quart "drop" oil pan for cool
running at speed.
The
trunk compartment is fully lined and features a black fiber cover over
the back of the dash to cover & protect wiring, fuses, and
such.
After market spare has never been on the ground. Original
tool
kit included.

The
original bumpers were replaced with triple-chromed, and carefully
selected, hand fitted, German parts. There are NO "plastic gaskets," or
other such junk, as you may find on a J.C. Whitney type bumper. An
"after market" bumper "stiffener," by Koch, also
triple-chromed,
(on front & back), adds protection. A "Vintage VW Club"
medallion is
on the left. Note the "squared off" rear deck lid &
the two
"back-up lights." These are some of the "one year only" items on a 67
model Bug! What a great antique car, huh?

This
shot shows the inside of the triple-chromed rear bumper and the
right-rear backup light. The bumper "innards" are clean enough to eat
off of! The front bumper is the same.

The
wheels are Empi "clones." This type wheel was a popular "after market"
accessory back in the 60's, but VERY hard to find nowadays. The
polished caps were hand detailed. Radial tires provide good performance
at freeway speeds.

The
dashboard is a thing of true beauty, just like it came from the
factory! So simple - so pristine. Its adorned with a colorful VW Bud
Vase, a Sapphire VI (very rare) AM/FM radio, new stock steering wheel,
rare day/night mirror, a green rear window defogger knob, (like the
kind on
a '67 Transporter), just to the right of the red emergency
flasher knob, and Owner's Manuals in the new glove box.

The
headliner was re-done using original VW fabric; its "stock" white with
"black dots" just like new, as are the sun visors. Its hard to see, but
that's a REAL "Day/Night" Bug mirror in the center. You don't see those
too often!

Here
is a view of the new headliner looking towards the rear. Its about as
nice as can be! The area behind the rear seat is fully
carpeted,
and clean, just like when new.

The
re-done door panels, and front/back seats, thru-out the car replicate
the originals quite closely. There's even a "door pocket" on the driver
side as when new. At present, the front seats are
covered with
black sheepskin covers, to keep them NEW for YOU. Also, for
safety, good looking, and well anchored, "Wolfsburg West" seat belts
were added front/rear.
A
few changes were made from "factory stock" to this collector car so as
to make the car more driveable on fast California freeways. The car can
be returned to factory stock if really desired.
